Wondering how your dentist can help you get a winning smile?

Most people who are looking to get a whiter smile may turn to at-home kits or DIY remedies; however, if you want to get amazing results quickly, then you’ll want to turn to professional teeth whitening. Under the supervision of our Granville and Spring Valley, IL, family dentists Dr. Evan Fiedler and Dr. Robert Dawe, professional teeth whitening offers an effective and safe way to get teeth several shades whiter without having to do any of the work. This is why so many people are turning to their dentists to get teeth whitening.

You’ll get visible results in a single day with in-office whitening

If you’re looking to get a visibly whiter smile in a short span of time, then the chairside teeth whitening that we offer to our Granville, Peru and Spring Valley, IL, patients will give you results in as little as 45 minutes to one hour. We can often get teeth anywhere from 3-8 shades whiter in just one or a couple of 30 or 60-minute whitening sessions.

You can help teeth whitening results last longer

While teeth whitening isn’t permanent, you can certainly play a role in how long your results last. In fact, with the proper hygiene and care, many people can maintain their whiter smile for a year or more. How can you help maintain your results?

  • Use a whitening toothpaste
  • Make sure you are brushing twice a day and flossing daily
  • Avoid or, at the very least, limit dark food and beverages
  • Use a straw when drinking dark beverages to limit exposure to teeth
  • Consider using at-home whitening kits or professional at-home whitening to prevent new stains from forming

We can reduce whitening-related tooth sensitivity

If you’ve been on the fence about teeth whitening because you’re worried about increased tooth sensitivity, then getting professional teeth whitening is going to be a better option for you. We can customize and adjust your whitening treatment to help you get the results you want while also minimizing tooth sensitivity. We can do this by limiting how long we leave whitening gel on teeth, as well as by choosing a less highly concentrated bleaching gel.

With an office in Granville, IL, our dentists provide teeth whitening and other cosmetic services to patients living in and around Peru, Spring Valley, Princeton, Oglesby and La Salle, IL. A yellowing smile can be embarrassing, but our Granville, IL, dentists can help.teeth whitening

While whitening toothpastes and at-home kits can certainly help prevent new dental stains from forming, they aren’t exactly as effective at removing preexisting stains as one might hope. If you have noticed that your smile has lost its luster, don’t worry; our Granville, IL, cosmetic dentists, Dr. Robert Dawe and Dr. Evan Fielder, can help fix this issue.

First and foremost, it’s important to understand how stains happen. While it’s normal for your smile to fade throughout the years, certain things like smoking or consuming certain dark foods or drinks (e.g. red wine; coffee) can make your smile fade even faster.

Well, tooth enamel is porous, which means that these stains can penetrate the outermost layers of the tooth where it’s impossible to just scrub the stain away with regular brushing. While a stained smile doesn’t necessarily mean that your smile is unhealthy, most people aren’t happy with the way their smile looks.

Luckily, teeth whitening can change all this. The professional whitening gel that our Granville dentist uses contains a high percentage of active ingredient. The two main active ingredients found in whitening products are carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide. Both of these agents work by going in and breaking up the stain molecules within the outer layers of the tooth.

Since the whitening gel used in in-office whitening contains a significantly higher percentage of the active ingredient this means that we won’t have to leave the gel on your teeth nearly as long in order to achieve optimal results. In-office teeth whitening is one of the fastest ways to get a brighter smile and to remove stubborn, deep-set stains.

Furthermore, professional teeth whitening can have you walking out of our office in under an hour with a smile that’s several shades whiter. Many patients can even get the results they want after just one in-office whitening session. Now, how’s that for fast?

Are you interested in getting professional teeth whitening treatment in Granville, IL? Want to turn to our dental team to give you the smile you just can’t wait to show off? Then schedule your consultation at Granville Dental to find out how our cosmetic services could benefit your smile.
